VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 56-5-4100, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO PREVENTING THE ESCAPE OF MATERIALS FROM CERTAIN VEHICLES THAT TRAVEL ALONG THE STATE'S HIGHWAYS, SO AS TO INCREASE THE PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS PROVISION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 56-5-4100(E) of the 1976 Code, is amended to read:
"(E) Any person who violates the provisions of subsections (B), (C), or (D), is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined one hundred thousand dollars."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
