VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ALLISON HICKS FOR HER EXTRAORDINARY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA LEGISLATURE WHILE SERVING AS A LEGISLATIVE AIDE, AND TO WISH HER ONLY THE BEST IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the House of Representatives commends those individuals who tirelessly give of their time and talents as true public servants to this State, serving as the backbone to our state government; and
Whereas, for her exceptional work as a legislative aide, Allison Hicks is an outstanding example of such a public servant; and
Whereas, Allison served as a page for the House of Representatives before returning in 2003 to work as a legislative aide. In that role she functioned in immeasurable ways, especially benefiting the House Rules and Ethics Committee and the Republican Women's Caucus; and
Whereas, working closely with former Representative Becky Richardson and other individual House members, Allison remained devoted to her job and followed important legislative matters to their completion; and
Whereas, as a legislative aide, she was given the opportunity to see firsthand how the South Carolina legislative process works, through participation in House meetings, routing of bills, and handling correspondence in a professional manner; and
Whereas, a caring and conscientious person, Allison could be counted on to perform any task well and with enthusiasm; and
Whereas, an amazing asset to the South Carolina Legislature, Allison will be sorely missed as she leaves to pursue a higher degree in theology at McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives will remain indebted to her for her selfless service in her time with the South Carolina Legislature and is confident that Allison Hicks will be one to make invaluable contributions to the lives of all she touches in the coming years. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Allison Hicks for her extraordinary contributions to the South Carolina Legislature while serving as a legislative aide, and wish her only the best in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Allison Hicks.
