A SENATE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO MRS. LAURA RATTERREE, OF RICHBURG IN CHESTER COUNTY, ON THE OCCASION OF HER NINETIETH BIRTHDAY ON MONDAY, MARCH 7, 2005, AND WISHING FOR HER MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY.

Whereas, the member of the Senate are pleased to note that Mrs. Laura Ratterree, of Richburg in Chester County, will celebrate her ninetieth birthday on Monday, March 7, 2005; and

Whereas, Mrs. Ratterree, the former Laura Mae Jones, a native of Bath, settled in Richburg in 1949, residing there ever since; and

Whereas, she was active in the Harmony Baptist Church, singing in the choir, then later moved her church affiliation to Edgemoor ARP Church, where she has remained an active and devoted member; and

Whereas, she is a member of Richburg Eastern Star and has in the past served as that group's district deputy; and

Whereas, she is to be honored by friends and family at a ninetieth birthday celebratory drop-in at Edgemoor ARP Church on Sunday, March 6, 2005; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the Senate to pause in their deliberations to add their voices to the chorus of friends and family who will be celebrating this milestone in the life of so distinguished a daughter of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, express their congratulations to Mrs. Laura Ratterree, of Richburg in Chester County, on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday on Monday, March 7, 2005, and wish for her many happy returns of the day.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Laura Ratterree.
