The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Proverbs 13:15: "Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard."
Let us pray. We give thanks to You, O Lord, Your goodness and mercy are great. Be present with us today as we continue the service to our State and her people. We thank You for those who assist us in our duties and are grateful for their friendship and caring. Give us good rest and renewal on the weekend so we may continue our duties. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, Representatives and staff. Keep our defenders of freedom safe and in Your care as they protect us. Comfort those who wait at home in their hours of loneliness and anxiety. Let them know of Your presence. In the name of the Lord, we pray. Amen.
