The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 40:17: "Yet I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay."
Let us pray. O Lord, Your love and compassion never fail; they are new every day. Great is Your faithfulness. Gracious Lord, daily You show us Your steadfast kindness and mercy. Grant us this day to be willing workers for the people of this State. Lead and guide us this day in all we do. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, Representatives and staff. Keep our defenders of freedom safe as they protect us. In the name of our Lord, we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
