TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF DENTISTRY-DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, LICENSING AND REGULATION, RELATING TO EXAMINATION OF DENTISTS AND DENTAL HYGIENISTS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2949, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Dentistry-Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, relating to Examination of Dentists and Dental Hygienists, designated as Regulation Document Number 2949, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The Board of Dentistry is amending Regulation 39-4 regarding examination of applicants for licensure to delete the requirement that the National Board examination must have been passed within fifteen years so as to remove an impediment to the licensing of qualified dentists and dental hygienists.
