TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-1-3355, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON WHO IS AT LEAST TWELVE YEARS OF AGE WHO IS NOT A LICENSED DRIVER MUST OBTAIN A SPECIAL IDENTIFICATION CARD FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES WHICH MUST BE PRESENTED TO A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER UPON REQUEST.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 15, Chapter 1, Title 56 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 56-1-3355. A person who is at least twelve years of age who is not a licensed driver must obtain a special identification card from the Department of Motor Vehicles which must be presented to a law enforcement officer upon request."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
