A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE PASTOR THOMAS SLOAN FOR HIS FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE CONGREGATION OF ENOREE BAPTIST CHURCH IN GREENVILLE AND FOR HIS COMMITMENT TO HIS COMMUNITY, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM IN ALL FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Pastor Thomas Sloan has spent the past five years inspiring the congregation of Enoree Baptist Church in Greenville with his unwavering faith, serving as a true confidant and guide to those in need; and

Whereas, the fourth of five children born to Mr. Thomas J. Sloan and Mrs. Georginna M. Sloan, Pastor Sloan was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina; and

Whereas, a graduate of the Marlboro County School System, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for three years, then enrolled at South Carolina State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Engineering. Pastor Sloan has also studied at Syracuse University, the American Baptist Theological Seminary, and Martin Webb Learning Center, where he received a Certificate and Diploma of Theology; and

Whereas, a devoted husband and family man, Pastor Sloan has shared a loving thirty-four year marriage with his wife, Gracie Brown Sloan, and has enjoyed three adoring daughters, Mary, Priscilla, and Tasha. His life has only been further blessed by the love of two beautiful granddaughters, Victoria and Lauren; and

Whereas, Pastor Sloan achieved a full and rich, thirty-three year career as an engineer, project manager, and facilities manager before entering the ministry; and

Whereas, Pastor Sloan remains thankful for the gifts that he has been given and shares them so freely with his many congregants, working for good in Greenville. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize Pastor Thomas Sloan for his faithful service to the congregation of Enoree Baptist Church in Greenville and for his commitment to his community, and extend best wishes to him in all future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Pastor Thomas Sloan.
