TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 12-37-932 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE COUNTY AUDITOR TO REQUIRE AN ADJUSTMENT OF THE FAIR-MARKET VALUE OF MOTORCYCLES FOR "HIGH MILEAGE" IF THE AUDITOR ALLOWS A "HIGH MILEAGE" ADJUSTMENT IN THE FAIR-MARKET VALUE OF OTHER MOTOR VEHICLES SUBJECT TO PROPERTY TAX IN THE COUNTY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 5, Chapter 37, Title 12 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 12-37-932. If a county auditor allows an adjustment of the fair-market value of motor vehicles for 'high mileage', the auditor also shall allow a similar 'high mileage' adjustment in the fair-market value of motorcycles subject to property tax in the county."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies with respect to motor vehicle tax years beginning after the last day of the second month following the month in which this act was approved by the Governor.
