TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR W. ANDREW "ANDY" ARNOLD OF GREENVILLE COUNTY FOR HIS REMARKABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN ACADEMIA AND THE LEGAL REALM AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS BENEVOLENT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY AND STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, throughout his entire life, W. Andrew "Andy" Arnold of Greenville County has been committed to achieving excellence in every one of his endeavors; and
Whereas, he was born in Anderson and later moved with his family to Greenville where he graduated from Berea High School in 1985. He also attended Spartanburg Methodist College before transferring to Furman University where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 1989; and
Whereas, he acquired his legal competence from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he graduated in 1992 as a member of the Order of Wig and Robe as well as the Order of the Coif; and
Whereas, after beginning his career with a large defense firm, Mr. Arnold opened his own practice in 1994, focusing primarily on employment litigation. With great success, he has expanded his practice and Arnold & Arnold now handles a diverse range of litigation matters for individuals and local businesses; and
Whereas, he is chairman of the Greenville County Democratic Party, a graduate of Leadership Greenville 29, and has been appointed by the City Council to serve on the Greenville Housing Authority; and
Whereas, currently, Andy Arnold writes a bi-monthly column for The Beat and is completing work on his first novel while he is on a sabbatical from his law practice; and
Whereas, he continues to strive for excellence while serving the citizens of Greenville and the State of South Carolina on a daily basis through his role as a counselor and public servant. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor W. Andrew "Andy" Arnold of Greenville County for his remarkable accomplishments in academia and the legal realm and commend him for his benevolent contributions to the community and State of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to W. Andrew "Andy" Arnold.
