TO AMEND SECTION 56-5-3650, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MOTORCYCLE FOOTRESTS, HANDLEBARS, AND REAR VIEW MIRRORS, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROVISION THAT SPECIFIES THE SIZE AND POSITION OF A MOTORCYCLE'S HANDLEBARS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 56-5-3650 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 56-5-3650. (a)(A) Any motorcycle carrying a passenger, other than in a sidecar or enclosed cab, shall must be equipped with footrests for such its passenger.
(b) No person shall operate any motorcycle with handlebars more than fifteen inches in height above that portion of the seat occupied by the operator.
(c)(B) No A person shall not operate any motorcycle unless it is equipped with a rear view mirror which will afford the operator ample vision to the rear at all times."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
