A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING HOLLY HILL ACADEMY'S LADY RAIDERS AND COACH RON NESTER ON THE TEAM'S 2007 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION AA STATE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP WIN AND ON ITS STELLAR 21-1 2007 SEASON.

Whereas, the Holly Hill Academy Lady Raiders posted a stellar 21-1 record in South Carolina Independent School Association AA Volleyball for the 2007 season; and

Whereas, their final win came October 24 at Hammond Academy over the Spartanburg Christian Warriors for the 2007 SCISA AA State Volleyball championship; and

Whereas, Coach Ron Nester and the team had set the state title as its goal at the start of the season; and

Whereas, a large crowd of fans, including the Raiders football team, witnessed the exciting tie-breaker victory that capped the championship season; and

Whereas, Coach Nester was chosen to coach the South A-AA All Stars by the SCISA Coaches Association and his all-star team was dominated by his own players Meredith Jenkins, Carlie Franklin, and Victoria Way; and

Whereas, those Lady Raiders and the rest of the team, including Wehme Carolyn Hutto and Mary Auburn Shuler who also had spectacular championship games, will all be back for the 2008 season to defend their crown; and

Whereas, the State Senate of South Carolina is proud to recognize these outstanding athletic champions of this State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Holly Hill Academy's Lady Raiders and Coach Ron Nester on the team's 2007 South Carolina Independent School Association AA State Volleyball championship win and on its stellar 21-1 2007 season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Ron Nester.
