A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING ANGELA HALFACRE ON HER RETIREMENT AND THANKING HER FOR HER DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT TO THE CHILDREN OF LEXINGTON DISTRICT 1 AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Angela Halfacre graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1971 with a degree in Early Childhood Education; and

Whereas, Mrs. Halfacre's thirty-seven year teaching career in Lexington District 1 began in August, 1971, where she has taught at four different schools, Red Bank Elementary, Oak Grove Elementary, Lexington Elementary, and for the past fourteen years, Midway Elementary; and

Whereas, by designing the first kindergarten classroom built in Lexington District 1 at Oak Grove Elementary School, Mrs. Halfacre is considered a pioneer in the district; and

Whereas, Mrs. Halfacre's three daughters have followed their mother's exceptional example by choosing teaching as a career; and

Whereas, Mrs. Halfacre will enjoy teaching her two-year old grandson, preparing him for kindergarten. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate congratulate Angela Halfacre on her retirement, thank her for her dedication and commitment to the children of Lexington District 1 and the State of South Carolina, and wish her well in the future.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Angela Halfacre.
