A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR RONNIE H. HOOVER, OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, FOR HIS THIRTY-THREE YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE EMPLOYMENT SECURITY COMMISSION OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the thirty-three years that Ronnie H. Hoover has served the citizens of South Carolina through the Employment Security Commission; and

Whereas, after earning a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina in 1975, Ronnie Hoover began working for the Employment Security Commission as a field deputy; and

Whereas, for twenty-seven years of his career, he worked in Lower Authority Appeals and is currently the Chief Appeals Officer, and during his tenure the Appeals Division of the Employment Security Commission has been recognized as one of the top divisions in the nation for processing appeals, conducting hearings, and rendering decisions in cases; and

Whereas, Ronnie Hoover represents the agency at numerous community events and was instrumental in campaigning on a national level for administrative hearing officers to be included as part of the National Association of Unemployment Insurance Appellate Boards; and

Whereas, in 1977, he married his beloved wife Bonnie Coley, and together they raised three fine children, Elizabeth, Brian, and Jonathan and are members of Living Word Assembly of God; and

Whereas, he further serves his community by providing music as a singer and guitar player at the Veterans Hospital and the Reevaluation and Release Center for Juveniles and for Fellowship of Christian Athletes events; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are saddened to learn that Ronnie H. Hoover will retire from the Employment Security Commission on August 1, 2008, and wish him health and happiness in his much-deserved retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Ronnie H. Hoover, of Lexington County, for his thirty-three years of service to the Employment Security Commission of South Carolina, and upon the occasion of his retirement, wish him much success in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Ronnie H. Hoover.
