VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO COMMEND FAIRFIELD ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE FOR NEARLY SEVENTY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF FAIRFIELD, CHESTER, RICHLAND, AND KERSHAW COUNTIES, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE COOPERATIVE UPON THE OCCASION OF THE DEDICATION OF ITS NEW BLYTHEWOOD OFFICE FACILITY AND OPERATIONS CENTER.
Whereas, Fairfield Electric Cooperative was organized on May 4, 1939, to bring electricity to the people of Fairfield, Chester, Richland, and Kershaw counties; and
Whereas, the cooperative has grown through the years and now serves over twenty-three thousand meters on more than three thousand miles of power line; and
Whereas, throughout its history, Fairfield Electric Cooperative has remained dedicated not only to providing reliable electric service but also to supporting the economic development efforts of the counties and communities it serves; and
Whereas, the cooperative has further demonstrated its community-service commitment through the Operation Round Up Program, which has contributed more than 1.1 million dollars to service organizations and individuals in need in these communities; and
Whereas, Fairfield Electric Cooperative has experienced tremendous growth over the past ten years, and in order to help meet the demands of this growth and to aid in its effort to provide excellent service, the cooperative recently constructed a new office facility and operations center in Blythewood; and
Whereas, the cooperative will hold a dedication ceremony for the new Blythewood office facility on Monday, April 2, 2007. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Fairfield Electric Cooperative for nearly seventy years of service to the people of Fairfield, Chester, Richland, and Kershaw counties, and congratulate the cooperative upon the occasion of the dedication of its new Blythewood office facility and operations center.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Fairfield Electric Cooperative.
