A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND WARMEST BIRTHDAY WISHES AND GREETINGS TO ONE OF LEXINGTON COUNTY'S MOST DELIGHTFUL AND WELL-KNOWN CITIZENS, BOB HOLLAWAY, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS SEVENTIETH BIRTHDAY, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR MANY MORE BIRTHDAYS TO COME.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are very pleased to learn that one of Lexington County's most delightful citizens, Mr. Bob Hollaway, will be celebrating his seventieth birthday on December 8, 2007; and

Whereas, Bob Hollaway is the owner of Carolina Cage Company and co-owner of Birds By Veta. The bird shop opened in 1991, has won four national awards, and is a Lexington County fixture; and

Whereas, he is a lifetime member of the American Federation of Aviculture and is a recipient of the coveted AFA Avy award. He is a past board member of the International Avicultural Society, as well as the Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors. He writes for Bird Talk magazine and other trade publications and has been a featured speaker at several national bird conferences; and

Whereas, Bob Hollaway is also a Lexington County civic and community leader through his service on and work with the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, the Vista Guild, and the West Vista Guild. He also volunteers for the Taste of Lake Murray through Capital City/Lake Murray Country; and

Whereas, he has for many years sponsored and supported the Columbia Midlands Soapbox Derby and cars entering into the competition; and

Whereas, Bob and his lovely wife Veta share many activities including their love of the Columbia Sailing Club; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and extend happiest greetings to this outstanding South Carolinian on the occasion of this milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives extend warmest birthday wishes and greetings to one of Lexington County's most delightful and well-known citizens, Bob Hollaway, on the occasion of his seventieth birthday, and extend best wishes of the House of Representatives for many more birthdays to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Bob Hollaway.
