A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AND HONOR COACH TIM WHIPPLE, OF IRMO HIGH SCHOOL, UPON THE OCCASION OF ATTAINING HIS FIVE HUNDREDTH BASKETBALL VICTORY AT IRMO DURING HIS REMARKABLE TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF COACHING.

Whereas, Coach Tim Whipple has had an exemplary twenty-seven-year career training young Irmo High School athletes to excel both on and off the basketball court; and

Whereas, Coach Whipple successfully led the Irmo Yellow Jackets' basketball team to a resounding 68-27 victory at home on Wednesday, January 2, 2008; and

Whereas, with that win added to his record, Coach Whipple reached the triumphant milestone of five hundred career wins by continually training winning basketball teams at Irmo High School; and

Whereas, through extraordinary leadership, dogged determination, and enduring dedication, Coach Whipple has honed the athletic skills of hundreds of players, helping them become outstanding athletes and exceptional young men. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate and honor Coach Tim Whipple, of Irmo High School, upon the occasion of attaining his five hundredth basketball victory at Irmo during his remarkable twenty-seven years of coaching.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Irmo High School Principal Eddie Walker and to Coach Tim Whipple.
