A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AMIE LEE, EXECUTIVE PROJECT COORDINATOR FOR THE MYRTLE BEACH AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, FOR HER INSTRUMENTAL INVOLVEMENT IN BRINGING THE 2008 REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES TO MYRTLE BEACH.

Whereas, Amie Lee, executive project coordinator for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, has helped to put South Carolina in the national spotlight through her instrumental involvement in bringing the 2008 Republican and Democratic Presidential Debates to Myrtle Beach; and

Whereas, with the help of a team as dedicated as she, Mrs. Lee handled planning and logistics for transportation, meals, events, ticketing, signage, and numerous other necessary arrangements; and

Whereas, overcoming various obstacles with equanimity and grace, she persevered in setting the stage for success in the debates so the entire nation was able to observe the excellence of Myrtle Beach as a site for national events; and

Whereas, Mrs. Lee's efforts in setting up community help desks, among other welcoming provisions, showcased the hub of the Grand Strand's true Southern hospitality, and the red carpet she and her team rolled out gave visiting media abundant cause to celebrate the city, resulting in an array of potential benefits for both Myrtle Beach and the State as a whole; and

Whereas, it is said that leaders are not measured by their efforts or by time spent but rather by the results they achieve. By this measure, Amie Lee's part in helping Myrtle Beach prepare for the 2008 Republican and Democratic Presidential Debates proves the exceptional quality of her leadership; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to acknowledge the labors of those who bring South Carolina deserved praise and recognition, and the members with gratitude salute Amie Lee for helping to add so worthy a laurel to the Palmetto State's achievements. Now, therefore,
