A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND HONOR THE MEMBERS OF THE LEXINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL C-TEAM FOR AN UNDEFEATED SEASON, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE PLAYERS AND THEIR COACHES FOR GARNERING THE 2008 PALMETTO ATHLETIC CONFERENCE 14 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the Lexington Middle School boys basketball C-team had an undefeated season and took the championship for Palmetto Athletic Conference 14; and

Whereas, on February 4, 2008, the Lexington Wildcats defeated Dutch Fork for the regional championship game in an exciting, 44-42 finish at Carolina Springs Middle School; and

Whereas, the Lexington Middle School boys C-team finished the season with seventeen wins and no losses; and

Whereas, the Wildcats of the Lexington Middle School C-team won not only the regular season conference championship but also the Palmetto Athletic Conference Tournament; and

Whereas, in a game that requires speed, agility, and mental as well as physical skill, Coach Andrew McMillan has used his athletic ability and experience to forge a championship basketball team; and

Whereas, the Lexington Wildcats are winners in the classroom as well as on the court in that all of the seventh grade players are in accelerated classes and the majority of the eight grade team members are in honors classes; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly pause in their deliberations to commend the success of the Lexington Wildcats boys C-team for winning the 2008 Palmetto Athletic Conference 14 Championship basketball title. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, acknowledge and honor the members of the Lexington Middle School boys basketball C-team for a successful season, and congratulate the players and their coaches for garnering the 2008 Palmetto Athletic Conference 14 Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Principal Laura McMahan and Coach Andrew McMillan.
