A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND BISHOP DONALD HYMAN FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF PHILANTHROPIC ENDEAVORS, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THE CITY OF FLORENCE'S PROCLAIMING MARCH 15, 2003, BISHOP DONALD HYMAN APPRECIATION DAY.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the House of Representatives honors those individuals who give tirelessly of themselves to the welfare of this great State's citizenry; and

Whereas, Bishop Donald Hyman stands among their number as an outstanding public benefactor, one much admired in his role as both philanthropist and pastor to the people of Florence; and

Whereas, in addition to his numerous contributions to already-established worthy causes, he started an annual "Give a Hand" program that dispenses food, clothing, toys, and toiletries to those in need and a "Back to School" program that gives free school supplies to needy students. As a pastor, he frequently visits nursing homes, hospitals, and private homes to offer spiritual guidance, prayer, and care; and

Whereas, in recognition of his many years of blessing his community, the City of Florence proclaimed March 15, 2003, Bishop Donald Hyman Appreciation Day; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to recognize Bishop Donald Hyman, who truly loves his neighbor as himself, for his selfless labors on behalf of his community, and the members join with the people of Florence in wishing him well in all his future ventures. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend Bishop Donald Hyman for his many years of philanthropic endeavors, and congratulate him on the City of Florence's proclaiming March 15, 2003, Bishop Donald Hyman Appreciation Day.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bishop Donald Hyman.
