INVITATIONS AND MEMORIAL RESOLUTIONS

To whom was referred a House Resolution (H. 5082) to recognize and honor the graduates of the Jasper High School Class of 1958 who are celebrating their golden anniversary this year, to congratulate them on many successes, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR THE GRADUATES OF THE JASPER HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1958 WHO ARE CELEBRATING THEIR GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY THIS YEAR, TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON MANY SUCCESSES AND ACHIEVEMENTS WHICH THEY HAVE ACCOMPLISHED AS A RESULT OF THE EXCELLENT EDUCATION THEY RECEIVED AT JASPER HIGH SCHOOL, AND TO DECLARE THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 8-10, 2008, AS "JASPER HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1958 WEEKEND" IN HONOR OF THESE GRADUATES.

Whereas, the Jasper High School Class of 1958 will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary the weekend of August 8-10, 2008; and

Whereas, the class is returning to Ridgeland, South Carolina, to reconnect with its origin and roots; and

Whereas, the class also will memorialize twenty-four of its deceased classmates; and

Whereas, the theme for this graduation celebration is "Reminiscing our past...Sustaining our Connections"; and

Whereas, this class has produced professionals from all walks of life including educators, doctors, contractors, politicians, and entrepreneurs; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives would like to wish this class many more years of success, happiness, and goodwill. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the graduates of the Jasper High School Class of 1958 who are celebrating their golden anniversary this year, congratulate them on many successes and achievements which they have accomplished as a result of the excellent education they received at Jasper High School, and declare the weekend of August 8-10, 2008, as "Jasper High School Class of 1958 Weekend" in honor of these graduates.
