VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE CHESTERFIELD HIGH SCHOOL "LADY RAMS" SOFTBALL TEAM, OF CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, ON ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2008 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, fully ready for the challenge, the Chesterfield High School "Lady Rams" softball team crowned its superlative season by capturing the 2008 Class A State Championship title, defeating Lake View 3-2; and
Whereas, the excitement began to build when Chesterfield grabbed its first Class A Upper State Championship in softball with a win against McBee on May 9, which put them one game away from the state championship; and
Whereas, the follow-up win against Lake View garnered Chesterfield its first state softball championship and demonstrated the Lady Rams' top-drawer strength, agility, and skill, as well as finely honed team effort and good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, using these talents and attributes, Coach Freddy Gaskins and the team showed fans and foes alike that the Lady Rams' winning of this victory was no accident; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Chesterfield High School softball team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the softball field and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Chesterfield High School "Lady Rams" softball team, of Chesterfield County, on its outstanding season and impressive win of the 2008 Class A State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Scott Radkin and Coach Freddy Gaskins, of Chesterfield High School.
