VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO REAPPORTION THE ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF UNION COUNTY ARE ELECTED AND DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THESE ELECTION DISTRICTS ARE DELINEATED.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding another provision of law, beginning with the election conducted after the effective date of this act, the nine members of the Board of Trustees of the School District of Union County must be elected as follows: two members elected from each of the three election districts as shown on the official map designated as S-87-00-07 prepared and on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the Budget and Control Board, and three members elected at large from the school district. Each seat must be numbered and candidates shall file for and must be elected from these numbered seats. All trustees of the board shall serve the remainder of the terms for which they were elected.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
