A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE REGINALD B. AND ANN V. SALISBURY, OF RIDGEVILLE, ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR SIXTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF BLESSING AND FULFILLMENT.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that Reginald and Ann Salisbury, of Ridgeville, will celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary on July 19, 2007; and

Whereas, there is no greater success in life than a marriage and family life that endure the test of time and grow stronger with each passing year; and

Whereas, the long-lasting love and support of a spouse is unmatched in its importance and cannot be overestimated; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Salisbury's commitment to one another over the past sixty years is to be revered and serves as an inspiration to both family and friends; and

Whereas, Reginald Salisbury served in the United States Army and during World War II was detained in a German prisoner of war camp for nine months. He considers one of his crowning achievements as having had the good sense to marry his beloved Ann, now retired after thirty-four years of teaching in Berkeley County, and with her to raise two fine children, who have blessed their parents with four grandchildren; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the Senate express their congratulations to these two special South Carolinians on reaching the milestone of their diamond wedding anniversary. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Reginald B. and Ann V. Salisbury, of Ridgeville, on the occasion of their sixtieth wedding anniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of blessing and fulfillment.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. and Mrs. Reginald B. Salisbury.
