The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Lamentations 3:25: "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him."
Let us pray. Lord God of love and mercy, be with us this day as we go about the duties assigned us. Be our guide as we work with others, that our togetherness may prove to be helpful in our work. Go with us as we finish the duties of the week. Refresh us over the weekend and make us fit for duty for the new week ahead. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who serve in government and private enterprise. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. In the name of our Lord. Amen.
