The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Exodus 35:2: "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy Sabbath of solemn rest to the Lord."
Let us pray. Holy God, forgive us when we place other things before You. Remind us we need a time with You to rest and renew our strength to continue our service to You and our fellow human beings. Care for us as we finish our work this week and refresh us for another week of duty. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who serve in government and private enterprise. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. In the name of our Lord. Amen.
