The House assembled at 12:00 noon.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 44:1-3: "We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what you did in their days, in the days long ago. With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our fathers; you crushed the peoples, and made our fathers flourish. It was not by the sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them."
Let us pray. You have been our guide and our light, O Lord, through all generations. Send Your guidance, Your courage, and Your integrity to abide with these Representatives and staff, that they may do the work of the people. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who serve. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. In the name of our Lord. Amen.
