The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 40:11: "Let your steadfast love and your faithfulness keep me safe forever."
Let us pray. Almighty God, giver of every perfect gift. Look in favor upon us this day, as we go about our duties and responsibilities, that we may do the work assigned to us with joy and contentment. Lord, Your steadfast love and faithfulness never fails us. Keep us above the fray and place our feet on solid ground. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, this Honorable Assembly, and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear our prayer, O Lord. Amen.
