The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Isaiah 30:15: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength."
Let us pray. We give You thanks, our Heavenly Father, for Your blessings this week, for the sunshine and fresh rains, for the relationships with one another, and the work completed. Now give us rest and a quiet weekend to renew our strength for another week of service. Look in favor upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, this Honorable Assembly, and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear our prayer, O Lord. Amen.
