The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from 1 Peter 4:8: "Maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins."
Let us pray. Gracious Lord, help these Representatives and staff see the situations of others through Your eyes of grace. Help us to speak with Your words of compassion and hope. Hold each in Your arms and give them the courage, strength, and integrity to make right decisions which affect all Your people. Grant Your continued blessings upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, this Honorable Assembly, and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear our prayer, O Lord. Amen.
