The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 31:14: "But I trust in you, O Lord, I say, 'You are my God, my times are in your hands.' "
Let us pray. God, we give thanks to You that the time of our life is in Your hands. Guide these men and women through the perils of life as they deliberate on important things for the people of this State. Keep our faith strong. Strengthen our bodies and minds for duties and responsibilities before us. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, this Honorable Assembly, and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear us as we pray. Amen.
