The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Deuteronomy 11:18: "You shall put these words of mine in your heart and soul."
Let us pray. All wise God, fix Your words in our hearts and help us live them faithfully, as we work together for the common good of all people in South Carolina. May we be compassionate and thoughtful in our relationships with one another. Bless our leaders and give them courage, strength, and integrity as they strive to lead our State and Nation. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. In the name of the Lord our God. Amen.
