TO HONOR THE SEVENTEEN MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED SERVICES FROM SOUTH CAROLINA OR WITH TIES TO SOUTH CAROLINA WHO HAVE DIED IN THE WARS IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN IN 2007, AND TO THANK LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ANDRÉ BAUER FOR HIS EFFORTS IN GIVING EACH THE PALMETTO PATRIOT AWARD.
Whereas, the following men and women of the United States Armed Services from South Carolina or with ties to South Carolina died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2007:

Whereas, to lose one's life is the ultimate sacrifice a soldier can make for the defense of his country; and
Whereas, the valor of these fallen heroes will never be forgotten by all Americans who will honor and treasure their memory; and
Whereas, it is appropriate that each of these individuals receive the Palmetto Patriot Award for their sacrifice. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, honor the seventeen members of the United States Armed Services from South Carolina or with ties to South Carolina who have died in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2007, and thank Lieutenant Governor André Bauer for his efforts in giving each the Palmetto Patriot Award.
