A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MCCAFFERY INTERESTS, INC., LEUCADIA NATIONAL CORPORATION, MYRTLE BEACH AIR FORCE BASE REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, AND THE CITY OF MYRTLE BEACH ON THE GRAND OPENING OF THE MARKET COMMON.

Whereas, The Market Common, Myrtle Beach project, located at Farrow Parkway between Highway 17 Business and Highway 17 By-Pass, is the first phase and the focal point of the redevelopment program approved by the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Redevelopment Authority and the City of Myrtle Beach; and

Whereas, The Market Common is a six hundred million dollar joint venture between McCaffery Interests and the City of Myrtle Beach. This one hundred twenty-one acre multi-use development will feature the finest restaurants, retail, and entertainment establishments, complimented by beautifully landscaped parks, lakes, and a public square is surrounded by thousands of luxury town homes, condominiums, timeshares, and luxury vacation rentals; and

Whereas, The Market Common is located on a three thousand seven hundred ninety acre parcel of land with thirty million dollars of new infrastructure, including twenty-nine acres of lakes, new community parks, and four miles of new roads; and

Whereas, construction of The Market Common commenced in Fall 2006 with the completion date and grand opening scheduled for April 2008. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate McCaffery Interests, Inc., Leucadia National Corporation, Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Redevelopment Authority, and the City Of Myrtle Beach on the grand opening of The Market Common.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to McCaffery Interests, Inc., Leucadia National Corporation, Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Redevelopment Authority, and the City Of Myrtle Beach.
