TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-691 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE SOUTH CAROLINA ALPHABET USING SYMBOLS OF OUR STATE TO DENOTE PARTICULAR LETTERS AS TRADEMARKED IN THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE IS DESIGNATED AS THE OFFICIAL ALPHABET OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-1-691. The South Carolina alphabet using symbols of our State to denote particular letters as trademarked in the Office of the Secretary of State is designated as the official alphabet of the State of South Carolina."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
