A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND COMMEND DEACON ANDREW LAMBRIGHT OF NORTH CHARLESTON FOR HIS LIFETIME OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO HIS CHURCH AND COMMUNITY AND EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Andrew Lambright, who was born and reared in North Charleston, attended public schools in Charleston County before furthering his education at Trident Technical College and the International Correspondence School of Scranton, Ohio. He is a retired plumber and worked with the Raybestos Manhattan Company; and

Whereas, Mr. Lambright has lived his entire life in service to his North Charleston community and to the New Charity Baptist Church, where he has served many years as a church deacon; and

Whereas, Deacon Lambright's faithful devotion and selfless commitment to his church and community is exemplary and spans more than half a century. He has been a member of the New Charity Baptist Church Deacon Board and Superintendent of Sunday School; and

Whereas, as a member of New Charity Baptist Church he served as Young Adult Class Instructor and Church Clerk for over forty years. He also served as Educational Director of Charity Baptist Church Brotherhood and twice was named the Charleston County Baptist Association Brotherhood "Man of the Year"; and

Whereas, Deacon Lambright's service to the church extends beyond his individual church as he is a past president of the Charleston County Sunday School Baptist Training Union Congress of Christian Education and a past president of the United Christian Sunday School Union; and

Whereas, in addition to his tireless efforts and selfless service to the church, Mr. Lambright's dedication to civic and community life is no less meritorious. He is a past president of the Elijah Four Star Society and was recognized for his leadership when he was given the society's "Presidential Service Award"; and

Whereas, Mr. Lambright's civic concern and commitment encompasses many causes, including membership on the Liberty Hill Improvement Council and being a founding member of Deacons Against Drugs and a Life Member of the NAACP; and

Whereas, Mr. Lambright married the former Gloria E. Gantt, and this union was blessed with five children: Joe, Vera, Karen, Theresa, and Darryl. Deacon and Mrs. Lambright are also proud grandparents and great-grandparents; and

Whereas, Deacon Lambright is known and respected for setting a high example of Christian manhood and for living his life in service to God, his family, and the community; and

Whereas, it is proper and fitting for the members of the House of Representatives to pause in their deliberations to recognize such an outstanding native son as Deacon Andrew Lambright. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor and commend Deacon Andrew Lambright of North Charleston for his lifetime of dedicated service to his church and community and extend best wishes to him in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Deacon Lambright.
