A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND HONOR JACK D. MOBLEY FOR HIS INVALUABLE SERVICE TO THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA UPON HIS RETIREMENT AS VICE PRESIDENT WITH LPA GROUP TRANSPORTATION CONSULTANTS AND TO WISH HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Jack Mobley distinguished himself in his thirty-one years of experience with the Department of Transportation from 1957 to 1988 in the most vital areas of highway design, planning, and construction; at that time he skillfully supervised as many as one hundred engineers, designers, and technicians; and

Whereas, Mr. Mobley designed and managed a variety of well-known projects, such as the Johns Island Parkway, the Isle of Palms Connector, the Florence to Conway Connector, and the Western Corridor in Greenville; and

Whereas, to benefit other consulting engineering firms, Mr. Mobley served for five years as a member of the South Carolina Section of American Council of Engineering Companies and as its president from 2006-2007; and

Whereas, his service in the South Carolina Air National Guard from 1958 to 1975, which included his mobilization to Spain in the 1960s, stands as a testimony to his dedication to the well being of the citizens of South Carolina; and

Whereas, additionally having served as an engineer and vice president in the LPA Group for many years from 1988 to the present after leaving state employment, Mr. Mobley has now begun a well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina commend and honor Jack D. Mobley for his invaluable service to the State of South Carolina upon his retirement as vice president from LPA Group Transportation Consultants and to wish him success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Jack D. Mobley.
