A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND THE WALHALLA WOMAN'S CLUB FOR ITS EFFORTS TO PROTECT SOUTH CAROLINA'S NATURAL BEAUTY, AND TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE CLUB'S SPECIAL COMMITMENT TO HELPING REDUCE LITTER AND WASTE IN OUR STATE BY ENCOURAGING ALL SOUTH CAROLINIANS TO USE ECO-FRIENDLY REUSABLE SHOPPING BAGS.

Whereas, the members of the Walhalla Woman's Club are dedicated and enthusiastic advocates for preserving the natural splendor of our State; and

Whereas, one of their primary environmental concerns is the proliferation of waste in South Carolina, especially the increasing use of plastic shopping bags that do not biodegrade; and

Whereas, the Walhalla Woman's Club has worked tirelessly to increase public awareness of this particular concern, primarily through a campaign to promote the use of eco-friendly reusable shopping bags; and

Whereas, grateful for this important work of the Walhalla Woman's Club, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing its members, encouraging them to continue their excellent efforts, and wishing them well in their campaign. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend the Walhalla Woman's Club for its efforts to protect South Carolina's natural beauty, and express the gratitude of the South Carolina House of Representatives for the club's special commitment to helping reduce litter and waste in our State by encouraging all South Carolinians to use eco-friendly reusable shopping bags.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Walhalla Woman's Club.
