A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE BAMBERG-EHRHARDT HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE 2008 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School baseball team defeated Chesterfield 7-0 on Friday, May 16, 2008, to capture the 2008 Class A State Championship title; and

Whereas, Coach David Horton, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built his baseball program into a championship team; and

Whereas, championship play demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as teamwork and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using these talents and attributes, the team showed fans and foes alike that the Red Raiders' winning of this victory was not a lucky accident; and

Whereas, adding luster to an already stellar season, Coach Horton racked up his fourteenth state championship, setting a national record in the process; and

Whereas, the Red Raiders have brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young men. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School baseball team for its outstanding season and for capturing the 2008 Class A State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Randall Maxwell and Coach David Horton, of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.
