A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO WILLIAM O. "BILL" BOYKIN, DEPUTY STATE FORESTER UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives notes with regret that Mr. William O. "Bill" Boykin is retiring from the position of deputy state forester; and

Whereas, Mr. Boykin began working with the South Carolina Forestry Commission in April 1977. Over the years, he has served in the Orangeburg and Walterboro districts, beginning his agency work there as a forester working with lowcountry forest landowners; in the Kingstree District as assistant district forester; in the Manchester State Forest as forest director; in the Orangeburg District as district forester; in the Coastal Region as regional forester; and he serves now in his present position as deputy state forester; and

Whereas, Bill Boykin has devoted his career to the protection, management, and conservation of South Carolina's public and private forest lands. Upon the occasion of his retirement, to take place on July 1, 2008, it is fitting that the members of the House of Representatives acknowledge with gratitude the tireless labors of this dedicated, servant-hearted man. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their gratitude to William O. "Bill" Boykin, deputy state forester upon the occasion of his retirement, and wish him much success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bill Boykin.
