TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE A.C. FLORA HIGH SCHOOL BOYS GOLF TEAM FOR CAPTURING THE 2007 CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S SUPERLATIVE PLAYERS, COACH, AND STAFF.
Whereas, on May 8, 2007, the A.C. Flora High School boys golf team crowned its season by capturing the 2007 Class AAA State Championship title, finishing with a 616, four shots ahead of Blythewood, at the Quail Creek Golf Club in Conway; and
Whereas, having also grabbed the state title on four previous occasions, the team members achieved this well-deserved victory by exhibiting teamwork, dedication, tenacity, and skill, without which no group of athletes can hope to excel; and
Whereas, in a clear demonstration of these talents and attributes at the May 8 playoffs, Coach Harry Huntley and the A.C. Flora Falcons gave indisputable evidence that championship preparation pays off in championship wins; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly take great pleasure in recognizing the noteworthy achievements of such exceptionally talented young athletes as those of the A.C. Flora boys golf team. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and commend the A.C. Flora High School boys golf team for capturing the 2007 Class AAA State Championship title, and honor the team's superlative players, coach, and staff.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the principal of A.C. Flora High School, Richard McClure, and Coach Harry Huntley.
