VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-7-263 SO AS TO REQUIRE A NURSING HOME TO CARRY A MINIMUM OF A ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS LIABILITY INSURANCE POLICY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 3, Chapter 7, Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 44-7-263. As a condition of licensure, a nursing home shall obtain and carry a liability insurance policy in the amount of at least one hundred thousand dollars."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
