TO HONOR AND EXTEND MANY THANKS TO FURMAN BABB FOR THE SERVICE AND COMMITMENT HE HAS PROVIDED TO HIS COMMUNITY THROUGH THE SELFLESS GIVING OF HIS TIME AND TALENTS.
Whereas, Mr. Furman Babb of Inman, South Carolina is recognized by his peers as being an outstanding citizen, and there has been an outpouring of recognition of his service by members of the Delman Lodge, Masons; the Spartanburg Shrine Club; and the Palmetto Council, Boys Scouts of America; and
Whereas Mr. Babb has served as President of the Spartanburg Shrine Club; and
Whereas, Mr. Babb currently serves as President of the Past Presidents of Spartanburg Shrine Club; and
Whereas, Mr. Babb takes his service very seriously and has had the most ticket sales for the charities supported by the Spartanburg Shrine Club, has headed the Club's Fish Fry for many years, is the top contributor in finance drives, and serves as Chairman of the Blood Drive for Shriner Hospital; and
Whereas, Mr. Babb has given his time and talents to repair and paint several lodges and churches, including the Delman Lodge Masonic Lodge Hall and the Spartanburg Shrine Club; and
Whereas Mr. Babb has repainted the Spartanburg Shrine Club Olympic Swimming Pool six times in the past twenty-nine years, allowing the children who receive therapy in the pool to have a delightful place to recover; and
Whereas, Mr. Babb also has contributed to the wellbeing of the youth in his community by coaching Little League Baseball and helping with the Boy Scouts. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate of the State of South Carolina honors and extends many thanks to Furman Babb for the service and commitment he has provided to his community through the selfless giving of his time and talents.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Furman Babb.
