The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Proverbs 30:4: "Who has gathered the wind in the hollow of the hand."
Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for helping each of us gain wisdom and knowledge. You have called these people to a particular responsibility, carrying the mantle of leadership to provide a good life for all our people. Continue Your love and helpfulness to each of these who work for the good of others. Refresh them for greater service to this State. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, and all who serve in government and private enterprise. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.
