The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 24:1: "The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world and all who live in it."
Let us pray. Spirit of God, fill us with Your power, that we may work with all our colleagues in caring for the people who have been entrusted to us. Nurture us through this day and give us rest and refreshment over the weekend. Continue Your blessings upon our Nation, State, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.
