To whom was referred a Bill (H. 3718) to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section 44-1-148 so as to prohibit the resale of fresh or frozen meat or meat, etc., respectfully
That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:
Amend the bill, as and if amended, by striking Section 44-1-148 of the 1976 Code as contained in SECTION 1 and inserting:
/ Section 44-1-148. Fresh meat or fresh meat products sold to a consumer may not be offered to the public for resale if the fresh meat or fresh meat products have been returned by the consumer. /
Renumber sections to conform.
Amend title to conform.

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-1-148 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE RESALE OF FRESH OR FROZEN MEAT OR MEAT PRODUCTS SOLD TO AND RETURNED BY A CONSUMER.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 44-1-148. Fresh or frozen meat or meat products sold to a consumer may not be offered to the public for resale if the meat or meat product has been returned by the consumer."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
