TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE CLEMSON UNIVERSITY, STATE CROP PEST COMMISSION, RELATING TO LIGHT BROWN APPLE MOTH QUARANTINE, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 4052, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Clemson University, State Crop Pest Commission, relating to Light Brown Apple Moth Quarantine, designated as Regulation Document Number 4052, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The State Crop Pest Commission has previously designated the Light Brown Apple Moth (LBAM) (Epiphyas postvittana) as a plant pest. The proposed quarantine will focus on the most effective method of preventing the introduction of the pest into the State by giving greater effect to state and federal quarantines at point of origin.
