The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 42:8: "By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life."
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, as You love us, help us to love one another, even those who dislike us and try to harm us. Lead us by Your hand to do for others, and help fulfill the needs they may have. Keep us in Your steadfast love that we may have that same love for one another. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who work in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds of our brave warriors, those seen and those hidden. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
