The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 17:6: "I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me, hear my words."
Let us pray. Gracious Lord, keep reminding us that You answer us when we call upon You. Grant us strength and courage, that amid all the trials of this life we know You are there to hear and to act on our behalf. Send us forth each day to do the work that has been given to us. Bless our going out and our coming in. Look in favor upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.
