The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 107:9: "For he satisfies the thirsty, and the hungry he fills with good things."
Let us pray. We give thanks, O Lord God, for the many gifts You have given to us. Give us the courage and wisdom to use these gifts for the good of humankind. Grant us Your grace, as we approach the weekend. Give us rest for the work ahead. Bless our Nation, State, and all our leaders and those who support and protect us. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.
